One of Western Australia’s best chefs, Aaron Carr prides himself on creating a menu that can cross the boundaries of cuisine by combining flavours that offer a cutting edge. Aaron has worked with some of the world’s leading chefs including Massimo Bottura (Osteria Francescana), Peter Gilmore (Quay) and Matt Orlando (Amass) and he has hosted dinners and events in Los Angeles, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne.
He was the helm of Vasse Felix Winery Restaurant for 21 years, picking up many accolades and consistently featured in Gourmet Traveller’s Top 100 Restaurants list. Aaron was awarded ‘Chef of the Year 2015’ and leading food critic John Lethlean from The Australian named Vasse Felix “….the benchmark winery restaurant in Australia”. In 2017 Aaron fulfilled a lifelong dream to open his own restaurant Yarri which was awarded two Chefs Hats at the national Good Food Guide Awards in its first year. Aaron is one of a select few who has been involved in every Truffle Kerfuffle since the event’s inception nine years ago.
